Dr.-Ing. Klodian Zaimi is the founder and Principal Technical Expert of STREAM Sh.p.k., an Albanian water, climate and environmental consultancy. His professional experience spans more than 20 years in hydrology, hydraulic modelling, water resources and flood assessment.
Technical expertise
Klodian’s work connects hydrometeorological observations, catchment modelling, river hydraulics and GIS. Areas of practice include flood forecasting and early-warning studies, dam and reservoir assessments, drainage, water-resource planning and technical inputs to hydropower studies. Modelling experience includes HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS 1D and 2D.
Qualifications and selected prior experience
He completed a PhD in Hydrotechnical Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Tirana in 2021, with a focus on hydrology, meteorology and floods.
The following assignments describe Klodian’s earlier professional experience. STREAM was established in 2025; these are not presented as contracts held by STREAM.
- 2021–2024: flood-management expertise for WBIF/ABKONS flood-risk management planning for the Erzen, Ishëm, Shkumbin, Seman and Vjosa rivers.
- 2020–2021: hydrological expertise for GWP-Med work on Drin-Buna flood modelling and hydropower reservoir-operation scenarios.
- 2017–2019: deputy team-leader and hydrological expert work with BETA Studio concerning Bovilla and Ulza reservoirs.
